Good response for Comed-K test
The much awaited Comed-K UGET 2007 entrance test for professional courses was
held on Sunday at 73 centres in the city and 32 centres in other parts of the
state.
As many as 59,581 candidates appeared for the tests, registering a total
percentage of 89. A total of 67,013 students had been issued admission tickets.
According to Comed-K secretary, S Kumar, there were no untoward incidents but
for the 12 cases of impersonation where candidates were debarred.
Interestingly, the response from students outside Bangalore has been
overwhelming. Of the total 18,018 candidates expected to take the test outside
Bangalore, 17,004 appeared registering an attendance of 94 per cent. However, in
centres within Bangalore, out of the 48,995 candidates who had admission
tickets, 42,584 attended, recording a 87 per cent attendance. Of the
impersonation cases, five have been debarred in Bijapur Medical College, two in
JSS, Mysore. Three candidates were debarred in Mahaveer Jain College and two in
Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College in the city.
